Challenges We Faced

The project was built on the Ella theme, which presented structural limitations for certain design and functional elements. Our team had to creatively work within these constraints to integrate TikTok video autoplay and homepage slides without disrupting speed or UX.

We also handled the full migration to Shopify–ensuring that products, content, and customer data were transferred accurately, with no disruption to store operations. Beyond this, setting up a flexible filtering system required custom adjustments to align with both the theme and catalog structure.

Our Approach & Solutions

  • Shopify Migration:

    We handled the complete migration from the client’s previous platform to Shopify, ensuring that all products, content, and customer data were preserved. The process was carefully managed to maintain structure and functionality throughout the transition.

  • Shopify UX/UI Redesign:

    We reimagined the homepage, collection, and product pages to match the bold personality of the brand. Key sections were optimized for storytelling through motion and layout, helping visitors connect emotionally with each product.

  • Autoplay Video & Dynamic Sliders:

    The homepage now supports seamless autoplay video directly from TikTok, integrated alongside a smooth, responsive banner slider–designed to maintain visual flow while highlighting brand updates and collections.

  • Custom Filtering Functionality:

    A filtering solution was developed to improve product discovery, allowing users to sort by material, color, and size. This feature was carefully styled to feel native within the Ella theme and function fluidly across devices.

  • App Integration:

    We configured a suite of apps supporting email marketing, SEO, shipping, reviews, and inventory sync. Each integration was selected and set up to strengthen site operations without bloating performance.

Our Development Process

Discovery phase

We aligned closely with Josh to understand his creative direction, content sources, and UX expectations. The discovery focused on how to blend video, storytelling, and functionality within the limits of the chosen theme.

Development phase

Through sprint-based development, we customized the Ella theme while embedding TikTok autoplay, filter systems, and homepage sliders. Each redesign element was tested for responsiveness and clarity, with apps integrated behind the scenes to support day-to-day marketing and logistics.

Impact & Key Results

The final site brings the Rings by Josh vision to life–a refreshed layout, seamless TikTok integration, and intuitive filtering combine to create a jewelry experience that feels personal, expressive, and smooth to navigate. With a successful migration and all creative goals achieved, the brand is now well-positioned for growth on Shopify.
